Born with a passion for making people laugh, Carmen Stockton forayed into performing at an early age with her uncanny impressions of teachers, celebrities and family members. By the time she reached high school, Carmen was booking herself as the lunchtime entertainment, performing sketches for her peers.

Carmen took her talents to the stage in the early 1990s with a series of one-woman shows, which she wrote, produced and starred in. She then shifted her focus to stand-up comedy. Using her unique views on life and her magnetic stage presence, Carmen quickly become a sought-after performer and was invited to perform at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal in 1999. Carmen began performing across Canada and the U.S. and her story was featured in enRoute magazine and The Globe and Mail.

Since then, Carmen has appeared at numerous comedy festivals, including several trips to CBC’s annual Winnipeg Comedy Festival. Her performances have aired on national television in both Canada and the U.S., on programs such as Comedy Central’s Premium Blends and CBC’s Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Best of the West and The New West. Carmen has been featured on several prestigious radio programs including CBC’s Madly Off in All Directions and Definitely Not the Opera.

After being invited to speak at the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) annual fundraiser in 2013, Carmen discovered another passion, public speaking, and she now includes keynote speaking as one of her offerings. To learn more, visit the shows page.
