Shows

My career as a comedian has taken me down an interesting road. So far, it’s been a journey filled with adventure and raucous laughter. While travelling this road, I've had moments of immense courage and I've had some pretty cowardly ones too. From the moment this journey began I’ve felt exactly the way I look in the photo on this page - slightly disheveled and underprepared but open hearted enough to take the trip anyways! I’ve performed in every venue imaginable, from a seedy run down laundry mat to a beautiful theatre in the heart of New York City and even though this journey has been wildly unpredictable, I truly can't wait to see where it takes me next!

This page will not only keep you informed of my comedic whereabouts, it also has information about my one on one or group workshops and my Keynote speeches that are available for booking.

Waiting To Exist

Waiting To Exist is my own story...well its as much of my story that I am willing to share publicly! This one woman shown is a labour of love and is a throw back to how comedy was performed when I was growing up. It feature slides, character sketches, a round of Self Help Jeopardy, an appearance from Elvis, a rowdy dance number and my signature stand up comedy.

This show is playful, vibrant and unforgettable. Show dates are coming soon!

Waiting To Exist is also available as a Keynote address. For more information, contact me at: carmen@carmenstockton.com.

In Defence of Joy

There is a growing effort in the world to create and define our lives around goals of success, happiness, achievement and greatness. Such notions are seductive, addictive, powerful and are often pursued with the intention of finding contentment and fulfillment.

These ideals have become fixtures and themes in our everyday conversations, in business meetings, commercials, on billboards, TV and film, in books, and are constantly posted on every form of social media every second of every day. So why are we becoming more judgmental and competitive, more spiritually exhausted and verbally violent towards ourselves and to one another? Why is humanity becoming less patient, less compassionate and less connected to the organic meaning of success, happiness, achievement and greatness?

This humble, funny presentation is designed to inspire you to redefine your life around a simpler, more attainable way of living. It will playfully challenge your definition of greatness and achievement, and it will ask you to suspend your interpretation of success long enough for you to hopefully discover and embrace the brilliance of living a Joyful life.
